First Stage can support up to 12 men at a time in their recovery from addiction

The Stage 1 house in Logan offers a supportive and structured environment to help men break free from addictions. This large, welcoming home features six spacious bedrooms, two lounge rooms, two bathrooms, a generous outdoor undercover area, and a huge backyard, providing a comfortable and supportive space for men to begin their recovery process in the “freedom From Addiction” program.
With level “3” accreditation, “Lorimer” is supported by a dedicated team of volunteers. House guidelines and a schedule ensure residents remain focused on their recovery.
Contact with previous destructive relationships is minimised, and positive, transformative relationships are encouraged.
Participation and Growth
Residents are expected to actively engage in the Freedom From Addiction program, which includes:
- Theraputic group meetings designed to promote personal growth, community, and accountability.
- Access to doctors, counselors, and the service psychologist.
- Completion of Phase 1 and 2 of “Growing Deep and Strong, a foundational Christian discipleship program.
- Peer group mentoring and individual specific mentoring.
- Theraputic work activities providing positive experiences in serving the wider community.
Progression and Responsibility
After six months, residents may be eligible for a gradual reintroduction of individual freedoms based on their progress and a case-by-case assessment. Freedoms are introduced, followed by monitoring to ensure residents manage the increased associated responsibility.
