Every Wednesday and Sunday,
we send a team to Brisbane City
with around 200 meals.

Every Wednesday and Sunday, our Brisbane team reaches out to some of the city’s most vulnerable, including those in Emma Millar Place (Roma St Parklands), King George Square, Queen Street Mall, Fortitude Valley, and St John’s Cathedral, where people are rough sleeping. The team also extends support to boarding houses and crisis accommodation complexes.

With a dedicated group of 6-15 members, the team provides essential items like hot meals, bread, fruit, clothing, sleeping bags, and blankets. They also share the Gospel, offer prayer, and distribute Bibles to those seeking spiritual guidance. To maximize their impact, the team often splits up to reach more people across the city. The timing of their visits may change each week, depending on the needs they encounter at each stop.

Where We Go

6:20 pm - Emma Miller Place(Roma Street Parklands)

Emma Miller Place is our first and largest stop, serving as a hub for various services that assist the homeless. This small park often sees a large number of people lining up to receive a hot meal. Here, we typically distribute over one hundred meals and encounter some of the most vulnerable rough sleepers in the area.

6.20pm - King George Square, Queen Street Mall, Treasury Casino

While most of our team serves at Emma Miller Place, a few members venture out to walk through the nearby city. This route typically includes King George Square, Queen Street Mall, and the area around the Treasury Casino. Along the way, we often encounter rough sleepers on park benches and people begging near busy walkways.

7.15pm - Brunswick Street Mall (Fortitude Valley)

After serving at Emma Miller Place, we send half of our team into the heart of Fortitude Valley. This area often reveals a different side of the city, where rough sleepers and groups of people gather near Brunswick Street Mall. Our team members engage with those in need, offering not only meals and essential supplies but also a compassionate presence in one of Brisbane’s nightclub districts. This outreach allows us to connect with individuals who do not live near the city, ensuring that no one is overlooked.

7.20pm - St John's Cathedral

St. John’s Cathedral offers a safe haven for the homeless, allowing them to sleep under cover in the Cathedral courtyard and store their belongings during the day. While part of our team is working in Fortitude Valley, another group arrives at the Cathedral to serve those who seek refuge on its grounds.

7.35pm - Warry Street (Fortitude Valley)

At Warry Street, our team serves residents in a housing commission complex. Here, we provide meals and essential supplies to individuals who often face significant challenges. This stop allows us to support this community, offering not just sustenance but also a sense of connection and care.

8.10pm - Avondale

Avondale, located in Red Hill, provides accommodation for a significant number of individuals facing tough circumstances. Our team visits Avondale to offer meals and support, reaching out to those who are enduring challenging situations and providing them with essential resources, compassionate care, and offering prayer.

8.25pm - Park Hotel & Roma House

The Park Hotel currently serves as a crisis housing complex, alongside Roma House, which provides crisis housing for men. Our team parks nearby and offers meals and support to the residents who come out.
